Scratch Resistant Flooring focuses on resisting surface marring and scoring from sharp or pointed objects being dragged across it, such as metal chair legs, tool drops, or pallet corners. While related to abrasion resistance, scratch resistance is more about point contact and plastic deformation of the surface.
This is achieved through epoxy systems with high cross-link density, flexibility, and surface hardness. Some systems use reinforcing fibers or special fillers that help the surface 'give' slightly without permanently deforming or scratching. A tough, clear polyurethane topcoat is often the first line of defense.
We recommend scratch-resistant systems for environments where metal-on-floor contact is frequent, such as furniture showrooms, workshops with metal fabrication, or areas where equipment is frequently rearranged.
